I am taking back control of my music.
Streaming services sucks nowadays, but I don't want to abandon the practicality of streaming, so I am now self hosting my music, in my way, using plexamp. It is probably not the best but it suits me well and I like my experience with the app.
So I choose what music I want, the format I want, I can even put my self-made projects there. I am loving the experience so far!
(btw, purchasing the songs I love makes it much more personal!)

i also started self-hosting my music collection (as a mounted nfs drive) about a year ago, though i pirate most of it. where are you buying digital files? i would probably first try on bandcamp, and go to qobuz if it's not available. i don't want to support amazon, you know
